Hey, all! FA has accepted my story (Yay!) so you can read the first part of it here .

In other news, hubby and I recently watched the Battlestar Gallactica miniseries, and really enjoyed it.
Reactions under the cut.
First of all, I just really liked the characters and the fact that they chose actors who weren't "perfect" looking to play them.  (Except the cylon lady, but that's understandable.)  The whole robots rebelling against their makers thing has been done before, but it seems like they have a nice, fresh take on it.
I like Starbuck.  Hubby says it was a male character in the original series, but I like her better this way.
Boomer... *cries*  I like you too much for you to be a Cylon sleeper agent.
I don't like the scientist guy, but his virtual conversations with the cylon lady were quite interesting.  I really didn't expect the guy he accused of being a cylon to really be one, so that joke was on me.
The amount of shipping seems about perfect -- not overly the focus, but clearly important to some of the characters.

At any rate, we're getting the first series on Netflix soon.

I knew you'd be pleased that we like it. Hubby's actually already seen 33 and he agrees that it's awesome. I'll have to wait until the netflix arive.

So is the original good, despite (or because of) the camp?

Oh, and I forgot to mention how much I love the President/former education secretary. Her name is Laura like mine, which makes it all the much cooler.

Welcome to the world of BSG watchers. Just wait until you get to know the characters even more. You think their lives can't get any more screwed up, and then they do. It's good fun. Just pace yourself when watching the series. It doesn't start up again until October.

Well, we don't have SciFi anyway, but I don't know how much we'll pace ourselves, given that we're getting them from Netflix. Glad to know you're a fan too. :)
